PVC Parameters
Explanations follow the table. Note that parameters labeled in a record as
Primary
identify the IP interface end of the connection, and
Secondary
is the X.25 end.

. Cannot be greater than the smaller
Maxim um Packet Size
specified in the Port records for both ends of the connection.
2 Cannot be greater than the smaller
Maximum Window Size
specified in the Port records
for both ends of the connection.
3 Logical channels must be lower than the lowest LCNs assigned to any subscribers on the
ports in a PVC record.
Bandw. Alloc. Group
is a method of prioritizing outgoing traffic over the trunk. Each IP and IPX network
interface, SVC Subscriber, and PVC is assigned to a trunk allocation group defined by
a
Pct of Bandw. - Grp “n”
value (
1–100
) and a
Priority for Group “n”
(
0–9
) specified in
the Network Defaults file.
Primary/Secondary Subscriber Name
identifies the subscribers to the console operator. The FRX8000 software does not use
this information.
IP Interface ID
is the IP interface at the primary end of the PVC.
Primary/Secondary Packet Size
is the maximum packet size that can be transmitted across the interface at either end
of the PVC.
Primary/Secondary Window Size
is the maximum window size at either end of the PVC.
Secondary Logical Channel
is a logical link between the node and the X.25 subscriber. The physical line may have
a number of logical channels. An LCN assigned to a port in a PVC record must be
lower than the lowest LCN specified for any SVC subscriber on the same port.
