20.5 Fault Codes and Suggested Actions
L In general numeric fault codes cannot be fixed on site and the unit will require returning to the
factory.

A one of occurrence may be experienced due to EMI
or transients. Repeated occurrences indicate faulty
electronics.
Power supply fault VARNN POWER
NN=01 to 30 (VAR ID) Check power supply.
Auxiliary fuse VARNN AUX FUSE
NN=01 to 30 (VAR ID) Check auxiliary fuse.
Over temperature alarm VARNN OVER TEMPERATURE
NN=01 to 30 (VAR ID) Check the ambient temperature in the equipment
room.
EEPROM failure VARNN/X NON-VOL MEMORY
NN=01 to 30 (VAR ID)
X=1=Base unit board
2=Expansion board 1 (VAR12)
3=Expansion board 2 (VAR20)
VAR Router will need replacing.
Host comms fault VARNN HOST COMMS
NN=01 to 30 (VAR ID) Check Host and connection between Host and VAR
Router.

contact fault VARNN/CINXX SHORT/OPEN Check wiring between remote contact and Router.
‘Learn’ function not

clearance LEARN NOT DONE Perform ‘Learn’ function to detect connected amplifier
mainframes.
DSP version
compatibility error
DSP INCOMPATIBLE DSP software version is not compatible with
Microcontroller (CP) software version; typically the
DSP version does not support the required Induction
Loop.
DSP software will need update.
Internal fuse VARNN/1 FAULT-01
NN=01 to 30 (VAR ID) Check internal fuse.
