Commissioning
The act of commissioning after the ‘learn’ function has been performed commands the mainframe to
recognise the current amplifier installation as the correct one, without configuring the mainframe and
amplifier’s parameters. Each parameter requires individual set-up, as described in the following sections.

When commissioning mainframes or amplifier slots a ‘GENERAL COMMS ERROR’ message
may be displayed. This is an indication that, due to a communication fault with the selected
mainframe, it is not possible to commission the value(s). If this occurs, then check that all
connections are in place, modules are fitted correctly, and all mainframes are powered on. It is
important to perform a complete commissioning session without such problems, and to view the
commissioned parameters when commissioning has been completed.

6.3.1 Viewing
a
Mainframe Configuration
It is possible to inspect the configuration of a mainframe, including the type and rating of amplifiers in each of
the four amplifier slots.
In order to view a mainframe configuration proceed as follows.
1. Select
Configuration
Æ
Frames
.
2. Scroll and select a mainframe from the configured mainframe list:
[Frame#nn - ]
Note:
If no mainframe is configured, then a warning message will be displayed.
The mainframe description will be shown on the right side of the display, if defined.
Default values: n.a.
3. Move to, and select the
Commission
menu item:
[Commission] Description Temp Slot#n
4. The mainframe configuration is displayed in similar fashion to how the data is displayed when ‘learn’ is
performed:
[F02 100D - 100N 100S]
Surveillance mode
Amplifier rate
Mainframe number
Slot 4
Slot 3
Slot 2
Slot 1
Note:
‘S’ identifies a standby amplifier, e.g. Slot 4.
‘N’ identifies a single circuit surveillance mode, e.g. Slot 3
‘D’ identifies a dual circuit surveillance mode, e.g. Slot 1.
‘L’ identifies a loop return surveillance mode.
‘
−
’ indicates that the slot is not configured, e.g. Slot 2.
5. Pressing the SELECT or BACK key will return to the parent menu.
