Test Tone Input Configuration

Test Tones are available on VAR Router SW V4.1.070 or later, and requires DSP SW V3.1.632
or later.

Test Tones are available on VAR Router SW V4.1.070 or later, and requires DSP SW V3.1.632

“DSP INCOMPATIBLE” fault will be generated if the VAR Router has a non-compatible DSP
software version.

The VAR Router can synthesise different test tones to assist the commissioning process of the PA/VA
system eliminating the need of external tone generators.

These test tones are selectable via the VAR Router control software, and are available as a special input
called Test Tone.

The Test Tone input can be routed by activation of a contact, or a button configured for DVA routing. For
configuration, refer to Sections “

14.2 Configuring a Contact for Routing

”, “

16.3.2 Configuring a Digital Input

”, and “

7.3.4.3 Configuring a Button for DVA Routing

”.

Alternatively the Test Tone can be permanently allocated to specific outputs using a permanent route. For
configuration, refer to Section “

15 Permanent Route Configuration

”.

With appropriate priority set-up the Test Tone can be indefinitely routed without compromising microphone
and DVA broadcasts. This enables the Test Tone to be provided for the required period of time. This is
useful specially when commissioning and testing PA/VA systems installed in large sites.

The following table summarises the configurable input parameters, and indicates those parameters available
for the Test Tone input with a tick (

). Each parameter configuration is described in the following sections.
