7.2.9 Input
Emergency
Class
The emergency class is used to control the VAR Router’s Remote Fault Output when configured for
‘Emergency DVA Active Indicator’ as follows:
•
The output is activated if an emergency audio input, e.g. ALERT or EVACUATE DVAs, is routed to an
output.
•
The output is not activated if all outputs are routed to non-emergency audio inputs, e.g. Paging
Microphone or music, or are not routed.
See Section “
5.8 Remote Fault Output Configuration
” for further details.
When the VAR Router is networked, the emergency class is used by the Audio Control Unit and Fire
Microphones connected to an Audio Control Unit to indicate the emergency message status of the zone
group configured for a zone select button via its red and green LEDs, see Section “
8.4
DVA Input Emergency

”.
In order to modify an input class proceed as follows.

2. Scroll the Mic/Line input list and select the required input:
[I/P #01 – MIC/LINE 01]
Default value:
input 1
Possible inputs: 01 to 04 for VAR4
01 to 12 for VAR12
01 to 20 for VAR20
Note:
The input name is shown on the right side of the display. The input name above is the Mic/Line
input 1 default name, however this may have been changed according to each site’s
configuration.
3. The configured Mic/Line type is displayed.
The input type may be changed, as described in Section “
7.1 Mic/Line Input Type Configuration
”.
4. Press the SELECT key to display the next sub-menu.
5. Move to, and select the
Ctrl
menu item, which is shown in different positions for different input types as
follows:
‘Paging Microphone’ and ‘Zoned Fire Microphone’
Buttons Audio [Ctrl] Name
‘Single Button Microphone’
PTT Audio [Ctrl] Name
‘Fire Microphone’ and ‘Miscellaneous Input’
Audio [Ctrl] Name
6. Move to, and select the
Class
menu item.
