6.3.4.2.1 Configuring

an

Amplifier’s AC Surveillance Tone Frequency Range

The amplifier surveillance cards monitor the amplifier health by means of AC surveillance tones, normally the
low frequency surveillance tone generated by the VAR Router outputs, as described in Section
“

12.4 Surveillance Tone Generation Configuration

”. The surveillance tone level is monitored at the amplifier

input and output, and any deviation from the configured threshold levels will be reported as a fault. Refer to
Section “

6.3.4.2.2 Configuring an Amplifier’s AC Surveillance Thresholds

” for surveillance tone threshold

configuration.

It is necessary to configure the amplifier’s surveillance tone range in order to enable the amplifier
surveillance card, as described in the following steps.
