5.9.2
Fault Timeout Configuration
The Host Protocol Fault Timeout is the time the VAR Router waits for a message from the host system
before generating a communication fault.
It is possible to enable and to define the timeout, or to disable the fault reporting, as described in the
following steps.

2. Move to, and toggle to required fault timeout option in the left field:
[Disabled] Secs:60

Enabled
A communication fault will be reported when the timeout expires.
•
Disabled
Fault reporting is disabled.
Default value:
‘Disabled’
3. If ‘Enabled’, move to, and scroll the possible timeouts until the required value is displayed in the right
field:
Enabled [Secs:60]
Default value:
‘60’ seconds
Possible values: 1 to 90 seconds
4. Press the SELECT key to proceed, or cancel by pressing the BACK key.

Make Route Message Format Configuration
Different hosts which can be connected to the VAR Router either use, or do not use, the chime command in
the ‘make route’ message.
This set-up defines whether the ‘make route’ message includes, or does not include, the chime type.
In order to configure the ‘make route’ message format proceed as follows.

2. Toggle to the required message format:
[Chime supported]

Chime supported
‘make route’ message includes chime type.
•
Chime not supported
‘make route’ message does not include chime type.
Default value:
‘Chime supported’
Note:
This selection should be made to match the host unit be connected to the VAR Router.
3. Press the SELECT key to proceed, or cancel by pressing the BACK key.
