4.6 Save Your Configuration
When you are done modifying the settings in a screen, click
Apply
to save your changes back to the
run-time memory. Settings in the run-time memory are lost when the Switch’s power is turned off.
Click the
Save
link in the upper right of the Web Configurator to save your configuration to non-volatile
memory. Non-volatile memory refers to the Switch’s storage that remains even if the Switch’s power is
turned off.
Note: Use the
Save
link when you are done with a configuration session.
4.7 Switch Lockout
You could block yourself (and all others) from using in-band-management (managing through the data
ports) if you do one of the following:

Delete the management VLAN (default is VLAN 1).

Delete all port-based VLANs with the CPU port as a member. The “CPU port” is the management port of
the Switch.

Filter all traffic to the CPU port.
4
Disable all ports.
