GY-2120WD/WS

Connection and Setting the GY-2120 RS-232C Baud Rate

Connect the COM1 connector of the PC and RS-232C connector of the GY-

2120 rear panel using the RS-232C cable.

Start the terminal software on the PC

Set the RS-232C port of the PC as follows.

Turn OFF SET UP switch 8 of the GY-2120 rear panel.

Turn ON the power of GY-2120.

Check that the initial screen is displayed on the PC terminal, and “<System

Initialize End>” is displayed finally.

Check that “No Tape” is displayed on the GY-2120 LCD.

Enter “SERV” from the PC keyboard, and check that the “SERV => ” prompt is

displayed.

Enter “21” for the “SERV => ” prompt, and press the ENTER key.

Check that the following messages are displayed.

Serial Baud Rate (default 4)

[0:2400 bps/1:4800 bps/2:9600 bps/3:19200 bps/4:38400 bps] = 4

BAUD RATE => 4

Enter “4” for the “BAUD RATE => ” prompt, and press the ENTER key.

Check that after about 3 seconds, the “SERV => ” prompt is displayed again.

10. Enter “quit” for the prompt, and press the ENTER key.

Check that the message “Exit SERVICE SET MODE” is displayed.

11. Turn OFF the GY-2120 power.
