Downloading of Firmware

A-1. Downloading of firmware using DTF tape

(Compatible revision:After GY-2120 firmware revision GY1.20 or after)

A-1-1. Outline

GY-2120 can download the firmware from the special download tape inserted in the drive.

Start this mode from the self-diagnosis menu (Refer to Section 6-3-7. “Troubleshooting”.) from the front

panel or the FDL menu (Refer to Section 6-2-3. “Download Mode”.) of RS-232C.

The special download tape contains those CPU firmwares in GY-2120 (Four:SCSI CPU, SYS CPU, SV

CPU, IF CPU) requiring update. GY-2120 automatically determines this from the contents of the tape,

and downloads for each CPU.

A-1-2. Operating from the Front Panel

1. Starting DIAG

Continue pressing the DIAG hole of the front panel.

When DIAG starts, the COMP indicator blinks.

2. Selecting the menu

Press the UNLOAD button on the front panel, and select Menu No. 099.

To cancel download, press the DIAG hole to end the DIAG mode and return to the normal state.

3. Executing download

Press the RECOVER hole on the front panel.

INSERT Dnld Tape is displayed on the LCD.

To cancel download, press the DIAG hole before inserting the tape and then abort.
