GY-2120WD/WS

This section describes the maintenance mode required for maintenance.

6-1. Outline

The maintenance mode of the GY-2120 can be used by entering commands from the terminal of a

personal computer (refered to as a PC hereafter) that is connected to the RS-232C connector.

6-1-1. Equipment Required and Connection

The following equipment is required to use the maintenance mode. Each equipment is connected as

shown in the figure below.

PC (IBM PC/AT compatible computer)

RS-232C cross cable

Terminal emulator software

(compatible with DEC VT100)

GY-2120 control software (remo.exe)

YR2-1 (Alignment tape) : Sony part No. 8-960-074-11

YR5-1 (Alignment tape) : Sony part No. 8-960-074-01

Recording tape (Cassette tape for DTF)

1: The RS-232C port of a PC is set as described below. (For the change of setting, refer to the operation

manual of a PC or the manual of the terminal emulator software installed in a PC.)

Communication baud rate: Set to the baud rate of the GY-2120

Character length: 8 bits

Stop bit: 1 bit

Parity: None

2: For the RS-232C cable that connects the GY-2120 and terminal, refer to Section 1-4.

3: Set SETUP switch 8 on the rear panel to OFF during connection when the baud rate of GY-2120 is

unknown. (In this case, the baud rate is connected at 9600 bps.)
