The instrument contains a lithium battery for system memory backup.
11.4 Instrument Disposal
• To avoid electric shock, turn off the power switch and disconnect the
power cord and test leads before removing the lithium battery.
•
When disposing of this instrument, remove the lithium battery and dis-
pose of battery and instrument in accordance with local regulations.
• Keep batteries away from children to prevent accidental swallowing.
If the protective functions of the instrument are damaged, either remove it from
service or mark it clearly so that others do not use it inadvertently.
Removing the lithium battery
1.
Turn the power switch OFF (
), then discon-
nect the power cord and test leads.
2.
Remove the 8 screws that secure the legs on
the rear panel, and the 2 screws used to
mount the handle on the side panel.
3.
Remove the top case section by sliding it to
the back of the instrument.
4.
Locate the battery installed at the corner of the
circuit board. Insert the tip of forceps between
the battery holder and battery to lift the battery
for removal.

• Phillips screwdriver
