The velometer must be correctly aligned with the horizontal axis to give the correct indications to the
balancer unit.

Install the magnetic pick-up Figure 1 [18]:

Remove the nuts Figure 1 [14] and washers Figure 1 [15] from the blanking plate Figure 1 [16].

Turn the propeller Figure 1 [4] until the interrupter bracket Figure 1 [12] aligns with the center of the
magnetic pick-up bracket Figure 1 [13].
2.2.2.5.4
Install the magnetic pick-up Figure 1 [18] in the magnetic pick-up bracket Figure 1 [13] and adjust
the locknuts Figure 1 [19] to set a gap of between 2,25 and 2,75 mm (0.09 and 0.11 in) between the
magnetic pick-up Figure 1 [18] and the interrupter bracket Figure 1 [12].

Tighten the locknuts Figure 1 [19].
2.2.2.5.6
Safety the locknuts Figure 1 [19] with Lockwire (Pt.No. P02-007).
2.2.3
CAUTION
MAKE SURE THE ELECTRICAL WIRES ARE PUT IN A POSITION WHERE THEY ARE CLEAR
OF ALL HOT AREAS AND PARTS THAT MOVE.
Install the electrical cables Figure 1 [1] and Figure 1 [2]:
2.2.3.1
Connect the electrical connector Figure 1 [7] to the velometer Figure 1 [8].
2.2.3.2
Connect the electrical connector Figure 1 [17] to the magnetic pick-up Figure 1 [18].
2.2.3.3
Put the electrical cables Figure 1 [1] and Figure 1 [2] along the engine and out of the engine
compartment through the access hole of access panel 21AL.
2.2.3.4
Open the DV window and put the electrical cables Figure 1 [1] and Figure 1 [2] through the DV window
and into the flight compartment.
2.2.3.5
Attach the electrical cables Figure 1 [1] and Figure 1 [2] to the engine and the structure with Cable
tie (Pt.No. P09-014) and the masking tape as necessary.
2.2.4
Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
2.2.5
Close the engine cowling 43AL.
2.2.6
Remove the safety clip and close the circuit breaker:

STARTER (ESSENTIAL BUS).

Propeller Balancing Using The Vibrex 8350 Balancer/Phazor
Note
Only approved persons can do a dynamic balance of the propeller.
3.1
Connect The Balancer/Phazor
3.1.1
Remove the access panel 21QZ.
3.1.2
Connect the test box to the CAT 2 test socket.
3.1.3
Connect the electrical cable Figure 1 [1] from the magnetic pick-up Figure 1 [18] to the CHANNEL A
connection on the balancer/phazor.
3.1.4
Connect the electrical cable Figure 1 [2] from the velometer Figure 1 [8] to the CHANNEL A
connection on the balancer/phazor.
3.1.5
Connect the electrical cable from the 28 VDC connection of the balancer/phazor to the test box.
3.1.6
Set the switches on the balancer/phazor to these positions:
