Aircraft post SB 71-012:
3.3.3.1
Disconnect the engine wash rig from the compressor wash coupling Figure 2 [2].
3.3.3.2
Install the protective cap Figure 2 [1] on the compressor wash coupling Figure 2 [2].
3.3.4
Install the exhaust duct cap Figure 1 [20] on the union Figure 1 [21].
3.3.5
Torque the exhaust duct cap Figure 1 [20] to between 7,4 and 8,5 Nm (65 and 75 lbf in).
3.3.6
Safety the exhaust duct cap Figure 1 [20] with Lockwire (standard) (Pt.No. P02-007).
3.3.7
Remove the clamp Figure 1 [4] and disc Figure 1 [1] from between the P2.5 pipes Figure 1 [2] and
Figure 1 [6].
3.3.8
CAUTION
MAKE SURE THAT THE DIRECTION OF FLOW ARROW ON THE VALVE ON THE P2.5 PIPE
POINTS IN THE DIRECTION OF THE AIRFLOW.
Connect the P2.5 pipes Figure 1 [2] and Figure 1 [6] with the new Gasket Figure 1 [5], valve
Figure 1 [3] and the clamp Figure 1 [4].
3.3.9
Remove the clamp Figure 1 [16]. Use a suitable tool between the flange Figure 1 [7] and the bracket
Figure 1 [12] to compress the bellows Figure 1 [8] then remove the disc Figure 1 [14] from between
the P3 pipes Figure 1 [13] and Figure 1 [17].
3.3.10
Connect the P3 pipes Figure 1 [13] and Figure 1 [17] with the new Gasket Figure 1 [15] and the clamp
Figure 1 [16].
3.3.11
Remove the blanking cap Figure 1 [10] from the P3 pipe Figure 1 [9].
3.3.12
Apply Anti-seize compound (Pt.No. P04-015) to the P3 pipe Figure 1 [9] threads. Connect the flexible
hose Figure 1 [11] to the P3 pipe Figure 1 [9].
3.3.13
Remove all the equipment, tools and materials from the work area. Make sure that the work area is
clean.
3.3.14
Install the engine cowlings 42AB and 42AT.
3.3.15
Close the engine cowlings 43AL and 43AR.
3.3.16
Remove the safety clip and close the circuit breaker:

IGNITION (ESSENTIAL BUS)
−
STARTER (ESSENTIAL BUS).
3.3.17
Start the engine, refer to AMM 12-B-71-00-00-00A-901A-A.
3.3.18
Set the ACS BLEED AIR switch to AUTO.
3.3.19
Operate the engine at 80% Ng for not less than five minutes to completely dry the engine.
3.3.20
Stop the engine, refer to AMM 12-B-71-00-00-00A-901A-A.

Compressor Turbine Wash
Note
To prevent the precipitation of deposits due to the use of “hard” water, allow the engine to cool below
65°C (150°F). The minimum duration for cooling is 40 minutes since last operation.
4.1
Preparation
4.1.1
Refer to the vendor instructions and prepare the rinse solution in the Engine compressor wash
rig (Pt.No. T71-010) (refer to Table 6 and Table 7).
4.1.2
Pressurize the wash rig to between 2 and 3,5 bar (30 and 50 psi).
