Functional Test Of The De-ice System
3.1
Preparation
3.1.1
Open and install a Safety clip (circuit breaker hold open) (Pt.No. T12-030) on this circuit breaker:
−
STARTER (ESSENTIAL BUS).
3.1.2
Open the engine cowling 43AR.
3.1.3
Disconnect the flexible hose Figure 1 [3] from the engine bleed-air pipe Figure 1 [1].
3.1.4
Connect the Air supply hose (Pt.No. Local supply) Figure 1 [2] of the Ground air supply (Pt.No. Local
supply) to the flexible hose Figure 1 [3].
3.1.5
Energize the aircraft electrical system, refer to AMM 12-B-24-00-00-00A-901A-A.
3.1.6
Set the ground air supply to on at 3,8 bar (55 psi).
3.2
Procedure

Two persons are necessary for this test.

Do
only if the functional test is done for the scheduled maintenance task 30-10/260.
3.2.1
Do the purge of the de-ice boots, refer to AMM 12-B-30-10-00-00A-255A-A.
3.2.2
On the left inner cross bar panel, set the ICE PROTECTION BOOTS switch to 3 MIN.
3.2.3
Make sure that:
3.2.3.1
The de-ice boots start to inflate immediately after the ice protection system is activated.
3.2.3.2
The BOOTS advisory caption on the lower MFD ICE PROTECTION window is ON.
3.2.3.3
The horizontal stabilizer de-ice boots pressurize for 8 seconds ±1 second then fully de-pressurize.
3.2.3.4
The lower part of the inboard de-ice boots on the wings pressurize for 8 seconds ±1 second then fully
de-pressurize.
3.2.3.5
The upper part of the inboard de-ice boots on the wings pressurize for 8 seconds ±1 second then fully
de-pressurize.
3.2.3.6
The lower part of the outboard de-ice boots on the wings pressurize for 8 seconds ±1 second then fully
de-pressurize.
3.2.3.7
The upper part of the outboard de-ice boots on the wings pressurize for 8 seconds ±1 second then
fully de-pressurize.
3.2.3.8
If a de-ice boot does not pressurize correctly, do the ejector flow control valves maintenance
procedure, refer to AMM 12-B-30-10-02-00A-901A-A.
3.2.3.9
All the de-ice boots stay de-pressurized for 140 seconds ±15 seconds before the sequence starts
again.
3.2.3.10
The DE ICE BOOTS caution message on the CAS display does not come on during the test.
3.2.4
Set the BOOTS switch to OFF during the inflation period.
3.2.5
Wait until the de-ice cycle is complete.
3.2.6
Make sure that the BOOTS advisory caption goes OFF when the cycle is complete.
3.2.7
Set the BOOTS switch to 1 MIN.
