3.10.2
If the wear marks are not equal, replace the striker plates, refer to 12-B-52-10-07-00A-920A-A.
3.11
If none of the ramps Figure 1 [6] on the striker plates Figure 1 [5] show wear marks, do the procedure
that follows:
3.11.1
Use a color waterproof pen to apply a layer to all the ramps Figure 1 [6] on the six striker plates
Figure 1 [5].
3.11.2
Close the door Figure 1 [1] and turn the door handle Figure 1 [2] until it can be felt that the hand force
is at the highest point. Do this step three times.
3.11.3
Open the door Figure 1 [1] and make an analysis of the rub marks that the shoot bolts Figure 1 [7]
have made on the colored ramps Figure 1 [6]. If the marks are not equal, replace the striker plates,
refer to 12-B-52-10-07-00A-920A-A.

Replacement of the Shoot Bolts
4.1
General
This document gives the procedure to replace the old shoot bolts with new shoot bolts. The new shoot
bolts ends have an increased chamfer. This makes it easier for the shoot bolts to engage in the striker
plates. New shoot bolts supersede the old shoot bolts. New shoot bolts are supplied with the cotter
pin hole. New fork ends have the cotter pin hole drilled after the shoot bolt has been installed and
adjusted to the correct length.
4.2
Remove the passenger/crew door trim panel, refer to AMM 12-B-25-21-03-00A-920A-A or 12-B-25-22-
03-00A-920A-A.
4.3
Remove and discard the cotter pins Figure 1 [9] from the shoot bolts Figure 1 [7].
4.4
Remove and discard the shoot bolts Figure 1 [7] from the fork ends Figure 1 [11].
4.5
Remove the nuts Figure 1 [10], bolts Figure 1 [13] and washers Figure 1 [14] from the fork ends
Figure 1 [11].
4.6
Remove the indicators Figure 1 [15] from the covers Figure 1 [16].
4.7
Remove the fork ends Figure 1 [11] from the connecting rods Figure 1 [12]. Discard the fork ends
Figure 1 [11].
4.8
Position the new fork ends Figure 1 [11] on the connecting rods Figure 1 [12] and loosely install the
bolts Figure 1 [13], washers Figure 1 [14] and nuts Figure 1 [10].
4.9
Apply a layer of Lubricating paste (Pt.No. P04-029) to the new shoot bolts Figure 1 [7].
4.10
Install the new Shoot bolt Figure 1 [7] on the fork ends Figure 1 [11].
4.11
Turn the door handle Figure 1 [4] to the closed position.
4.12
Adjust the length Figure 1 [8] that the shoot bolts Figure 1 [7] come out of the door Figure 1 [1] to the
limits in Table 6.
4.13
Make sure the flat part at the end of the shoot bolts Figure 1 [7] is at the outboard side of the door
Figure 1 [1] and the cotter pin Figure 1 [9] holes of the shoot bolts Figure 1 [7] and the fork ends
Figure 1 [11] align. It is possible that a selection of shoot bolts will have to be tried to get these
conditions.
4.14
Turn the door handle Figure 1 [4] to the open position.
4.15
Use a 2 mm drill to drill the cotter pin holes in the fork ends Figure 1 [11] using the hole in the shoot
bolts Figure 1 [7] as a guide. Remove all unwanted material from inside the door Figure 1 [1].
4.16
Install new Cotter pin Figure 1 [9] through the shoot bolts Figure 1 [7] and fork ends Figure 1 [11].
4.17
Remove the nuts Figure 1 [10], bolts Figure 1 [13] and washers Figure 1 [14] from the fork ends
Figure 1 [11].
