Note
There can be a large error in the track of the propeller blades with a very small error in the angle that
they are set to.
3.2.24
If the IPS shown in Step 3.2.19 is not more than 0.2 IPS, the dynamic balance of the propeller is
satisfactory.
3.2.25
If the IPS shown in Step 3.2.19 is more than 0.2 IPS, do the adjustment of the propeller balance.
3.3
Adjustment Of The Propeller Balance
Refer to Fig. 2 and Fig. 4
3.3.1
Remove the engine cowling 42AB.
3.3.2
Make a mark of the IPS and the clock position on the data sheet Chart A to calculate the quantities
and positions necessary for the balance weights.
3.3.3
CAUTION
A MAXIMUM OF TEN WASHERS WEIGHING UP TO 45,0 g (1.6 oz) MAY BE INSTALLED AT
ANY SINGLE HOLE IN THE SPINNER BULKHEAD.
Make a note of the positions and quantities on the data sheet Chart B.
3.3.4
Turn the propeller Figure 1 [4] until the interrupter bracket Figure 1 [12] aligns with the magnetic
pick-up Figure 1 [18].
3.3.5
CAUTION
MAKE SURE THAT BETWEEN ONE AND FOUR THREADS ON THE BALANCE WEIGHT
SCREWS COME OUT OF THE NUTS.
Look at the propeller Figure 1 [4] from the front of the aircraft and install the balance weights on the
propeller bulkhead at the positions shown on data sheet Chart C.
3.3.6
Install the engine cowling 42AB.
3.3.7
Do the test of the propeller balance again.
3.4
Disconnect The Balancer/Phazor
3.4.1
Disconnect the 28 VDC connection on the balancer/phazor from the test box.
3.4.2
Disconnect the electrical cable Figure 1 [1] from the CHANNEL A connection on the balancer/ phazor.
3.4.3
Disconnect the electrical cable Figure 1 [2] from the CHANNEL A connection on the balancer/ phazor.
3.4.4
Disconnect the test box from the CAT 2 test socket.
3.4.5
Install the access panel 21QZ.
4
Propeller Balancing Using The Vibrex 2000 Dynamic Balancer
Note
Only approved persons can do a dynamic balance of the propeller.
4.1
Connect the Dynamic Balancer
4.1.1
Put the dynamic balancer in the flight compartment.
4.1.2
Connect the Velometer cable to the VELO 1 connection of the unit.
4.1.3
Connect the magnetic pick-up cable to the MAG PU A connection of the unit.
