Table 6 Shoot Bolt Measurements
Shoot Bolt Measurements
Lower Shoot Bolt (nearest to the door
hinge)
Between 35,5 and 36,5 mm (1.40 and 1.44 in)
Center Shoot Bolt
Between 30,5 and 31,5 mm (1.20 and 1.24 in)
Upper Shoot Bolt
Between 26,5 and 27,5 mm (1.04 and 1.08 in)
3.7
If the measurements are not correct, adjust the shoot bolts as follows:
3.7.1
Remove the passenger/crew door trim panel, refer to AMM 12-B-25-21-03-00A-920A-A or 12-B-25-22-
03-00A-920A-A.
3.7.2
Remove and discard the cotter pin Figure 1 [9] from the shoot bolt Figure 1 [7].
3.7.3
Remove the shoot bolts Figure 1 [7] from the fork ends Figure 1 [11].
3.7.4
3.7.5
Remove the indicators Figure 1 [15] from the covers Figure 1 [16].
3.7.6
Remove the fork ends Figure 1 [11] from the connecting rods Figure 1 [12]. Discard the fork ends
Figure 1 [11].
3.7.7
Position the new fork ends Figure 1 [11] on the connecting rods Figure 1 [12] and loosely install the
bolts Figure 1 [13], washers Figure 1 [14] and nuts Figure 1 [10].
3.7.8
If required, apply a thin layer of Lubricating paste (Pt.No. P04-029) to the new shoot bolts Figure 1 [7].
3.7.9
Install the shoot bolts Figure 1 [7] removed at Step 3.7.3 on the fork ends Figure 1 [11].
3.7.10
Turn the door handle Figure 1 [4] to the closed position.
3.7.11
Adjust the length Figure 1 [8] that the shoot bolts Figure 1 [7] come out of the door Figure 1 [1] to the
limits in Table 6:
3.7.12
Make sure the flat part at the end of the shoot bolts Figure 1 [7] is at the outboard side of the door
Figure 1 [1] and the cotter pin holes of the shoot bolts Figure 1 [7] and the fork ends Figure 1 [11]
align. It is possible that a selection of shoot bolts will have to be tried to get these conditions.
3.7.13
Turn the door handle Figure 1 [4] to the open position.
3.7.14
Use a 2 mm drill to drill the cotter pin holes in the fork ends Figure 1 [11] using the hole in the shoot
bolts Figure 1 [7] as a guide. Remove all unwanted material from inside the door Figure 1 [1].
3.7.15
Install new Cotter pin Figure 1 [9] through the shoot bolts Figure 1 [7] and fork ends Figure 1 [11].
3.7.16
3.7.17
Position the indicator Figure 1 [15] in the cover Figure 1 [16] and on the fork end Figure 1 [11]. Install
the bolts Figure 1 [13], washers Figure 1 [14] and nuts Figure 1 [10].
3.8
Examine the inboard side of the striker plates for signs of touch marks, or monitor the shoot bolt
Figure 1 [7] motion from the inner side of the aircraft when the door Figure 1 [1] is closed. If touch
marks are found, replace the striker plates, refer to 12-B-52-10-07-00A-920A-A.
3.9
Examine the outboard side of the striker plates Figure 1 [5] for signs of touch marks. If touch marks
are found, it could be necessary to replace the shoot bolts (Ref. Step 4) and the striker plates
Figure 1 [5], refer to 12-B-52-10-07-00A-920A-A.
3.10
If none of the above checks show the cause of the high hand force, do the shoot-bolt-load not-equal
checks that follow:
3.10.1
Examine the ramps Figure 1 [6] on the six striker plates Figure 1 [5] for equal wear marks.
