Procedure
1
General
This procedure is applicable to the Goodrich left and right steel heat sink brake assemblies only. There
are two different main wheels and brake assemblies available; manufactured by either Goodrich or
Parker. The wheels by one manufacturer are not interchangeable with the brake assembly from the
other. It is important to make sure the correct type of brake assembly is installed.

Removal
2.1
Obey the safety precautions given in, AMM 12-B-32-00-00-00A-901A-A.
2.2
Lift the aircraft clear of the ground on jacks, refer to AMM 12-B-07-10-00-00A-901A-A.
2.3
Open and install a Safety clip (circuit breaker hold open) (Pt.No. T12-030) on this circuit breaker:
−
HYD CTL (ESSENTIAL BUS).
2.4
Remove the main wheel, refer to AMM 12-B-32-40-01-00A-920A-A.
2.5
Set the parking brake handle to on, but do not operate the brake pedals.
2.6
Disconnect the pipe Figure 1 [11] from the union Figure 1 [9].
2.7
Remove the six nuts Figure 1 [1] and bolts Figure 1 [5] and remove the brake assembly Figure 1 [4]
from the axle Figure 1 [10].
2.8
If necessary, loosen the locknut Figure 1 [8] and remove the union Figure 1 [9] from the brake
assembly Figure 1 [4]. Remove and discard the O-ring Figure 1 [7].
3
Installation
3.1
Make sure the bleeder fitting Figure 1 [3] is at the top of the brake assembly Figure 1 [4]. If not do the
following steps:
3.1.1
Remove and discard the lockwire from the bleeder plug Figure 1 [6].
3.1.2
Remove the bleeder plug Figure 1 [6] and O-ring Figure 1 [2]. Discard the O-ring.
3.1.3
Remove the bleeder fitting Figure 1 [3] and O-ring Figure 1 [2]. Discard the O-ring.
3.1.4
Install the bleeder fitting Figure 1 [3] and new O-ring Figure 1 [2] in the top port of the brake assembly
Figure 1 [4].
3.1.5
Install the bleeder plug Figure 1 [6] and new O-ring Figure 1 [2] in the bottom port of the brake
assembly Figure 1 [4].
3.1.6
Torque the bleeder fitting Figure 1 [3] and bleeder plug Figure 1 [6] to between 7,9 and 9,0 Nm (70
and 80 lbf in).
3.1.7
Safety the bleeder plug Figure 1 [6] with Lockwire (Pt.No. P02-001).
3.2
Install the locknut Figure 1 [8] and new O-ring Figure 1 [7] on the union Figure 1 [9].
3.3
