Note
The NAV LIGHTS circuit breaker is opened to prevent operation of the white navigation light on the tail,
close to the upper red beacon.
2.2
Remove the top or bottom filament:
2.2.1
Loosen the screw Figure 1 [2] or Figure 2 [7] and remove the lens Figure 1 [1] or Figure 2 [8].
2.2.2
Remove the filament Figure 1 [3] or Figure 2 [10] from the red flashing light Figure 1 [4] or Figure 2 [6].
2.3
Remove the top red flashing beacon:
2.3.1
Remove the screws from the access panel (tail cone) 32ET and move the access panel to get access
to the electrical connector Figure 1 [8].
2.3.2
Disconnect the electrical connector A410J Figure 1 [8].
2.3.3
Loosen the screw Figure 1 [2] and remove the clamp ring and lens Figure 1 [1].
2.3.4
Remove the five screws Figure 1 [9] from the red flashing light Figure 1 [4].
2.3.5
Remove the red flashing light Figure 1 [4], gasket Figure 1 [5] necessary cable ties and the cable
assembly Figure 1 [7].
2.4
Remove the bottom red flashing beacon:
2.4.1
Remove the screws from the access panel 12AB and lower the access panel to get access to the
electrical connector Figure 2 [1].
2.4.2
Disconnect the electrical connector A800JFigure 2 [1].
2.4.3
Loosen the screw Figure 2 [7] and remove the clamp ring and lens Figure 2 [8].
2.4.4
Remove the five screws Figure 2 [9] from the red flashing light Figure 2 [6].
2.4.5
Remove the red flashing light Figure 2 [6], gasket Figure 2 [5] necessary cable ties Figure 2 [3] and
the cable assembly Figure 2 [2].

Installation of the Top and Bottom Red Flashing Beacons
3.1
Install the bottom red flashing beacon:
Note
The bottom red beacon light has a drain hole in the lens.
3.1.1
Put the electrical connector Figure 2 [1] and cable assembly Figure 2 [2] through the hole in the gasket
Figure 2 [5] and the access panel Figure 2 [4].
3.1.2
Install the red flashing light Figure 2 [6] and gasket Figure 2 [5] on the access panel Figure 2 [4] with
the five screws Figure 2 [9].
3.1.3
Hold the access panel Figure 2 [4] in position and connect the electrical connector A800J Figure 2 [1].
3.1.4
Install a Cable tie (Pt.No. P09-008) Figure 2 [3] as necessary to support the cable assembly
Figure 2 [2].
3.1.5
Make sure the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
3.1.6
Install the access panel 12AB.
3.2
Install the top red flashing beacon:
Note
The top red beacon light with Part number 972.87.87.332 has a drain hole in the lens.
3.2.1
If the top red beacon light (P/N 972.87.87.332) is used, use Sealant (Pt.No. P08-018) or
Adhesive (Pt.No. P08-102) to seal the drain hole in the lens.
3.2.2
Put the electrical connector Figure 1 [8] and cable assembly Figure 1 [7] through the hole in the gasket
Figure 1 [5] and the access panel Figure 1 [7].
