Laser beacon measuring procedure
Location of beacon
Mount the laser beacon with a wall bracket. By using a wall
bracket we eliminate vibrations and shifting levels in the floor
sheets.
Locate the beacon in the place where the beam is least ob -
structed but still can get good access to the vital transfer area.
Move the beacon around to find the best place. Make a mark
and fix the wall bracket to the enclosure. Install the beacon and
start it. Once the beam is visible the beacon is levelled and
ready for use (Please, see the instruction for your laser).
Position the beacon 100 or 200 mm below the 0-point used.
This makes calculations easier.
Interpreting the beam
The centre of the light beam is the true level. It
is not possible to use the top or bottom of the
light beam since its “thickness” may vary in dif -
ferent positions.
To make the interpretation as exact as possi -
ble one person should read all measures for a
stack.
Make reference marks around the enclosure to
confirm that the beacon is placed in the correct
position if you have to take it out one day and
reinstall it the next.
If the red beam is difficult to read because
of strong daylight the use of a pair of special
glasses will help. Ask the supplier of the beacon
for details.
