Rail levelling tool
The rail levelling tool is meant to replace the millimetre ruler
scale when levelling the rails with bucket and hose.
The rail levelling tool is mainly developed to improve the visibil -
ity and usability and by this improve the final levelling accuracy.
When using the rail levelling tool, calculation preparations is no
longer required, as when using a millimetre scale.
The total height of each line cut-out represent the levelling
height tolerance. Setting the water level within the height of
each cut-out will set the rail height within tolerance ±1 mm.
How to tare the tool
1. Use zip ties to attache the hose to the levelling tool.
Follow your normal procedure to fill up the system with water
or alcohol.
2. Place the tool on the drive chain, were the belt feet are rest -
ing, above any chosen stand, close to the bucket.
3. Adjust the height of the bucket in order to place the wa -
ter level close to the line of the stand, on which the tool is
placed.
4. Fine adjust the water level by turning the threaded rod on
the levelling tool up or down.
5. Finally tighten the nut.
How to use the tool
1. Start levelling the first stand after the drive station and work
your way through all stands in the drive direction.
2. Adjust the stand so the water level is in between the top and
bottom of the line cut-out on the levelling tool.
For best overall result, try to repeat the same relative water level
for each stand.
