To make things easier we break down the measurements into 3
areas called A, B and C.
Area A shows the belt tension in the bottom 8 tiers (~8 min) of
the belt stack. The graph starts out with the belt tension at the
infeed rail, moves up to the highest belt tension at about 180°
opposite the transfer point and finally down to zero belt tension
no later then 8 tiers up in the stack. The radius R1 should be as
large and smooth as possible. The graph should not fluctuate up
and down more then ± 100N in this area and there should only
be one top peak. Max belt tension varies from 350N to 750N
depending of the belt stack size, belt weight, link height, type of
belt take-up, no of active weights in the take-up,
coefficient of friction on internal rails etc. A thumb role is that the
smaller a belt stack is, GYRoCOMPACT
®
42, the lower the belt
tension should be and the larger a belt stack is,
GYRoCOMPACT M10, the higher the belt tension should be.
The FRIGoBELT-belt is designed for a max allowed belt tension
of 700N and the FRIGoBELT Widebelt for a max allowed belt
tension of 1000N.
Warning
Belt tension higher then this could cause serious
wear and fatigue problems on the belt and drive
system components and should be corrected
immediately.
Area B shows the belt tension in the area of the belt stack where
there is close to no tension at all in the belt. The graph should be
straight and horizontal in this area and not fluctuate up and down
more then ± 100N from the 0.00N line.
Area C shows the belt tension on the top tiers of the belt stack.
This area varies in length from ½ of a tier to max 2 tiers. The
radius R2 should be as smooth and large as possible.
Max belt tension in this area depends of the outfeed motor
pull, weight of the belt hanging down from the outfeed and the
amount of active weights in the take-up. Max belt tension in this
area should be between 300N and 500N.
Note!
If you want to analyze area A in detail, use Time #1, #2 and #3
measured under Start logging data to find the 0° point, the trans -
fer point, stands etc.
