(1) I/O parameter setting
Set I/O Parameter No.1 “Input and Output Port Assignment Type”, No.14 “Number of Ports
Used for I/O1 Fieldbus Remote Input”, No.15 “Number of Ports Used for I/O1 Fieldbus

(2) Option Unit Activation Setting
Set the number of the option units (PIO/SIO/SCON extension unit, PIO unit and EC
connection unit) to be connected to the SEL unit. Set the number of units in I/O
Parameter No.186 “Number of Connected Option Units” using the PC teaching software
or a teaching pendant (TB-02/03).
SCON extension unit (RCON-EXT) should not be included in the number of connected
units.
Example: In the figure below, there are four option units (PIO/SIO/SCON extension unit = 1 unit,
PIO unit = 1 unit, EC connection unit = 2 units).
Therefore, set “4” in I/O Parameter No.186 “Number of Connected Option Units”.

(3) Setting to Use EC Connection Unit
Select “EC Connection Unit” in the option board parameter.
(It should be separated into tabs depend on the connected units on a teaching tool)
Set “1 (EC Connection Unit)” in Option Board Parameter No.1 on each unit.
(*) It is the end of the process if ELECYLINDER is to be controlled in the SEL program.
(4) When Controlling EC from I/O in Host Device
The following option board parameters should be set up to a unit controlled from I/O in a
host device.
● Option Board Parameter No.2 (*1) : Set to 1 (Host Device).
● Option Board Parameter No.3: Set the input port of the control signals sent from the host
device to the EC connection unit.
● Option Board Parameter No.4: Set the output port of the control signals sent from the
EC connection unit to the host device.
* This setting is necessary for establishing the input and output port relations for the input
and output ports used in the fieldbus and the EC connection unit.
*1 Setting should be established in Option Board Parameter No.2 to determine if the control
of ELECYLINDER to be conducted in “0: SEL Program” or “1: Host Device (such as PLC)”.
Write the parameters to the flash ROM after the settings are finished and reboot the controller
or have the software reset. This is the end of the parameter settings for RSEL.
