You can also make a call by entering a phone number after pressing
n
or
t
. In this case, a call will be made
automatically in about 5 seconds after the phone number is entered.

If a message (or announcement and image for videophone calls) to request your caller ID is played when a call is
made, call back after setting the FOMA terminal to send your caller ID.

A call can also be made under set conditions.

The charges are based on the rate for digital communication not for voice calls even when substitute image is
sent instead of the camera image.

If a videophone call attempt fails, the screen automatically returns to the stand-by display after the following
message displayed. Note that displayed messages may not reflect the status on the other party correctly,
depending on the type of the terminal and/or usage of the network service on the other party.
*: This message may also appear during packet communication depending on the other party's terminal.

When making a videophone call to FOMA terminal which supports videophone call, the recommended
communication speed is 64K. Videophone via 32K line is intended for connection with devices such as PHS with
which videophone calls via 64K line may not be available depending on the network condition. When a
videophone call is made via 64K line, the call type is automatically switched to via 32K for redialing if the
communication environment of the other party is 32K. When "ON" is set for Auto redial as voice, redialing via 32K
line is also given priority. → P77
Note: If a call is made via 32K line, the charge is the same as the digital communication charge via 64K.
Message Description
Check number, then redial. You dialed the phone number not used.
Busy. The other party is busy.

Out of service area/power off. The other party is out of the service area or the other party's
terminal is turned OFF.
Set caller ID to ON. You did not notify your caller ID (when dialing to services such as
V-live and visualnet).
Redial using voice call. Displayed when the other party is set Call forwarding service but
the destination's FOMA terminal does not support videophone
calls.
Busy with packet transmission. The other party is in packet transmission.
Make call from i-mode web page. Make a videophone call after connecting to a site provided by IP
(Information Provider).
Upper limit exceeded. Connection failed. Upper limit of a charging plan with limiting function (Type Limit or
Family Wide Limit) is exceeded.
Connection failed. Displayed when any of the above messages are not applicable.
Camera image is displayed while the videophone call is connected.

If the phone on the other party is busy, you will hear the busy signal.
The message of "Busy." or "Connection failed." is displayed on the
screen. Press
f
to end the call and make a call again later.

In Silent mode ON, a confirmation screen appears asking whether to
switch to the call using the speakerphone function. Select "No" to the
call using the earpiece.

When
t
is pressed while the videophone call is connected, the
substitute image set in Image setting (Videophone image) is sent.
When Chara-den is set as the substitute image, the Chara-den may not
be displayed. If this happens, the default image set for Substitute
Image is sent to the other party.
