Data Communication
Devices required
The following devices are required in addition to
FOMA terminal and PC:
- USB cable attached to F903i or FOMA USB connection
cable (optional)

Note: Please use USB cable attached to F903i or purchase a
FOMA USB connection cable. USB cable for PC is
not available because the connector type is different.
Usage precautions
Internet service provider usage charges
When using the Internet on a PC, usage charge to
your Internet service provider (hereinafter referred
to as Provider) is usually required. This charge is
paid directly to the Provider, and is separated from
the FOMA service charge. For details on usage
charges, contact your Provider.

DoCoMo's Internet connection service mopera U
or mopera is available.
mopera U is an optional subscriber service to be
charged requiring subscription. You can also use
a plan which charges monthly fee only for a
month you use this service. For Internet
connection with the FOMA terminal, to use
mopera U applicable to broadband connections
is recommended.
mopera requires no subscription or monthly
charge. This service is convenient for those who
need to connect to Internet immediately.
Dialup connection (Provider, etc.)
Different dialup connections are required for packet
communication and 64K data communication.
When performing packet communication, use the
dialup connection for packet communication.
When performing 64K data communication, use
the dialup connection for FOMA 64K data
communication or ISDN synchronized 64kbps data
communication.

PHS 64K/32K data communications such as
PIAFS or connections to DoPa access points are
disabled.
User authentication
Some dialup connections require user
authentication before a connection can be
established. If user authentication is required, you
must use your communication software or dialup
network to enter your ID and password. Your ID
and password will be assigned by the network
administrator of the connection destination such as
your provider or corporate LAN. For details, contact
your provider or network administrator.
Access authentication during using PC
browser
If FirstPass (user certificate) is required for the
access authentication during using PC browser,
you must install FirstPass PC software from the CD-
ROM provided and configure it. For details, see
"FirstPassManual" in CD-ROM.
To view "FirstPassManual"(PDF format), Adobe
Reader (version 6.0 or later is recommended) is
required. If Adobe Reader is not installed in your
PC, you can install it from the attached CD-ROM.
Conditions of packet communication and
64K data communication
To perform data communication from FOMA
terminal, the following conditions must be
satisfied:
- You must be within the FOMA service area
- Packet communication requires an access point that
supports FOMA packet communications
- 64K data communication requires a dialup connection that
supports FOMA 64K data communications or ISDN
synchronized 64kbps
Note that even when the above requirements are
satisfied, you may not be able to perform data
communication if base station traffic is heavy or
the signal quality is poor.
