Using the audit log
Audit log description
The ID-4000 audit log captures the date, time and the
operator’s user ID for each of the following ID-4000
transactions:

ID-4000 startup (no user ID recorded for this transaction)
•
Exit to Log In dialog box
•
Successful log-in
•
Failed log-in
•
Image capture
•
Badge print
•
Magnetic stripe encode
•
Bar-code label print
•
Record delete
•
Record update
•
Record create
•
Data file backup
•
Card history access
•
Import access
•
Calibration access
Anyone with the appropriate access privileges can view
the audit log to monitor user activity or trace a sequence
of transactions.
The audit log continues to grow as the system is used.
For this reason, the ID-4000 allows you to delete the
audit log records when you no longer need them. If
necessary, you can store audit log information on a
diskette as a text file before deleting it from the audit log.
Viewing the audit log
