If the search retrieves multiple records, they appear in a
browse window.
If all the retrieved records do not fit in the window, use
the scroll bar at the right to scroll the list up and down.
To see more fields in each record, use the horizontal
scroll bar at the bottom of the window.
To print the text of all records in the list, choose the Print
button. (Your system must be connected to a laser
printer.)
You can click on any record in the browse window, then
choose Select to display the record in the Data Entry
window.
If the search retrieves only one record, that record
appears immediately in the Data Entry window.
Sample search statements
The search statements below illustrate typical advanced
searches. These are samples only; the field names on
your ID-4000 system may be different.
Some of these statements use the “Boolean” logical
operators AND, OR and NOT. The operator AND
separating two expressions means both expressions
must be true to retrieve the record. The operator OR
means either one of the expressions (not necessarily
both) must be true for retrieval. NOT means the record is
retrieved only if the expression is not true. If necessary,
these expressions can be strung together or nested with
parentheses for constructing more complex search
specifications in standard SQL (structured query
language) format.
