Bar-code label printer
The bar-code label printer provided as an option with
ID-4000 systems prints an adhesive-backed label with an
industry-standard bar-code. The code usually contains
an identification number or other data from the applicant
database and selected during system setup.
After printing, the bar-code label can be applied to the
front or back of the badge for reading (“decoding”) by
automated access control systems and other devices.
Additional printer
instructions
When appropriate, this section refers you to separate
instructions provided with the printer. Note that some
sections of the separate instructions may not apply to
the printer when it is used with the ID-4000.
Turning the printer on
and off
Refer to the instructions provided with the printer for the
location of the power switch. Turn the printer on
before
turning on the ID-4000 computer. When turning the
ID-4000 off, turn the computer off before turning off the
printer.
Loading the printer
For blank label specifications and the loading procedure,
see the instructions provided with the printer.
Printing labels
Whenever it prints a badge on the color film recorder,
color thermal printer or PVC printer, the ID-4000 also
commands the bar-code label printer to print a label
simultaneously. To complete the printing process,
simply choose the OK button when “Print bar-code
label?” appears on the ID-4000 display.
