Verify that the modem is connected to the ID-4000
computer, to an analog telephone line, and to AC power.
Be sure the modem is turned on.

Write down the telephone number for the line connected
to the modem so you can give it to the technician.

Start the remote diagnostics software as follows:

Type
cd\ and press Enter.

Type
cd closeup and press Enter.

Type
chost and press Enter.
After taking these steps, call the technical assistance
number provided in
Obtaining assistance in Chapter 1
(or the number provided to you when your system was
installed) to arrange remote dial-in with a service
technician.
