Diecutting and laminating instructions
Badge photographs printed with the color film recorder
or the color thermal printer must be diecut and
laminated for maximum durability and
tamper-resistance.
Badges with magnetic stripes must also be laminated
because the iron-oxide magnetic stripe is a component
of the laminating material. (Do
not encode the magnetic
stripe until after you laminate the badge.)
Note: For maximum tamper-resistance, badge
photographs printed with the color film recorder should
be diecut and laminated while they are still damp.
Diecutting
Use the following steps to diecut badge photographs to
the proper size for laminating:
1
Insert the photograph into the diecutter and align the
badge image with the diecutter opening.
The diecutter above is used with ID-4000 systems that
print one badge on each sheet. Systems that print two
badges per sheet use a diecutter slightly different from
the one shown.
Note: If you cannot align the badge image with the
diecutter opening, you may need to change the position
of the image on the sheet. See
Adjusting printed image
position and size on page 7-32.
