INDICATOR CIRCUIT

TROUBLESHOOTING

MODE/SHIFT INDICATOR

If the riding and gear shift condition are normal but

the mode/shift indicator does not come on when the

ignition switch is ON and engine stop switch "O",

check as follows:

NOTE:

• Check the com bination meter power ground line

before troubleshooting(page 22-9).

1. M ode/shift Indicator Signal Line Open Circuit

Inspection

Turn the ignition switch OFF.

Disconnect the combination meter 20P (Gray)

connector.

Disconnect the TCM 33P (Black) connector
(page 11-17).

Check for continuity between the combination

meter 20P (Gray) connector and TCM 33P (Black)

connector.

Connection: A28 - P ink/w hite

Is there c o n tin u ity ?

YES - GO TO STEP 2.

- Open circuit in Pink/white wire

2. M ode/shift Indicator Signal Line Short Circuit

Inspection

Check for continuity between the combination

meter 20P (Gray) connector at the wire side and

ground.

Connection: P ink/w hite - Ground

Is there c o n tin u ity ?

YES - Short circuit in Pink/white wire

- Replace the TCM w ith a new one, and

recheck (HFT initialization procedure:
page 11-93).
