5. TP Sensor Output Line Short Circuit Inspection
1
Disconnect the TP sensor 3P (Black) connector.
Check fo r co n tin u ity between the TP sensor 3P
connector term inal o f the w ire harness side and
ground.
Connection: Red/yellow - Ground
Is there c o n tin u ity ?
YES - S hort circuit in R ed/yellow w ire
NO - GO TO STEP 6.
6. TP Sensor Inspection
Replace the TP sensor w ith a know n good one.
Clear the DTC (page 6-12).
Turn the ig n itio n sw itch ON and engine stop
switch " O "•
Check the TP sensor w ith the HDS pocket tester.
Is DTC 8-1 in d ica te d ?
YES - Replace the ECM w ith a know n good
one, and recheck
NO - Faulty original TP sensor
DTC 8 -2 (TP S E N S O R H IG H V O L T A G E )
1. TP Sensor System Inspection
Turn the ig n itio n sw itch ON and engine stop
switch " Q ".
Check the TP sensor w ith the HDS pocket tester.
Is a b o u t 5 V in d ica te d ?
YES - GO TO STEP 2.
NO - • In te rrritte n t failure
• Loose o r p oor contact on the TP sen­
sor connector
2. TP Sensor Resistance Inspection
Turn the ig n itio n switch OFF.
Disconnect the TP sensor 3P (Black) connector.
Measure the resistance at the TP sensor side.
Connection: Red/yellow - Green/orange
Is the resistance w ith in 0.5 - 1.5 k£2?
YES - GO TO STEP 3.
NO - Faulty TP sensoi
