ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM (ABS)
3. M o to r Pow er Input Line Open Circuit Inspection
(at control unit side)
Install the ABS M O TO R fuse.
Disconnect the ABS m odulator 25P connector.
M easure the voltage between the ABS m odula­
tor 25P connector from the w ire harness side.
There should be battery voltage at all times.
CONNECTIO N: Red ( + ) - Green/Orange (-)
Is there b a tte ry voltage?
NO - • Open circuit in Red w ire.
• Open circuit in G reen/O range wire.
YES - GO TO STEP 4.
4. Failure Reproduction
Turn the ignition switch OFF.
Connect the ABS m odulator 25P connector.
Erase the problem code (page 18-7).
Test ride the m otorcycle above 10 km/h (6 mph).
Retrieve the problem code (page 18-6).

YES - Faulty ABS m odulator.
NO - Pum p m otor is norm al (tem porary fail­
ure).

PROBLEM CODE 54 (Fail-safe Relay)
1. Fuse Inspection
Check the ABS SOLENOID fuse (30 A) in the fuse
box for blown.
Is th e fuse b lo w n ?
YES - GO TO STEP 2.
NO - GO TO STEP 3.
