CLEARING PROBLEM CODE
R em ove the right front side cowl (page 3-5).
Disconnect the d u m m y connector from the ABS ser­
vice check connector.
1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
• Short the w ire term inals of the ABS service
check 3P connector with a ju m p er w ire and
with the ignition switch turned OFF in the sam e
m anner as retrieval.
• U.S.A. procedure: Short the w ire term inals of
the ABS service check 3P connector w ith the
special tool and w ith the ignition switch turned
OFF in the sam e m anner as retrieval.

1. Turn the ignition switch ON and engine stop
switch to "O" w hile squeezing the brake lever.
The ABS indicator should com e on for 2 seconds
and go off.
2. Release the brake lever im m ediately after the
ABS indicator is off. The ABS indicator should
com e on.
3. Squeeze the brake lever im m ediately after the
ABS indicator is on. The ABS indicator should go
off.
4. Release the brake lever im m ediately after the
ABS indicator is off.
W hen code erasure is com plete, the ABS indica­
tor blinks 2 tim es and stays on.
If the ABS indicator does not blink 2 tim es, the
data has not been erased, so try again.
If the ABS indicator blinks 2 tim es and blinks,
faulty ABS system, go to ABS trouble shooting
(page 18-9).
5. Turn the ignition switch to OFF and rem ove the
jum per w ire or special tool.
Connect the d um m y connector to the ABS ser­
vice check 3P connector.
Install the right front side cowl (page 3-5).
