4. Oil Level Switch Inspection
Remove the oil level switch (page 11-104).
Connect an ohm m eter to the oil level switch te r
minals.
Measure the resistance through the sensor as
follow.
- Close contact point:
Set the oil level switch with same direction of
the oil level switch installed.
- Open contact point:
Set the oil level switch with same direction of
the oil level switch installed and soak the float
in a pan of oil.
STANDARD:
Close contact point: 0 - 0.01 kC2
Open contact point: 1.5 - 1.7 kQ
Is there sta n d a rd resistance?
YES
- Replace the TCM with a new one, and
recheck (HFT initialization procedure:
page 11-93).
NO
- Faulty oil level switch.
5. Oil Level Switch Relay Input Voltage Inspection
Turn the ignition switch OFF.
Remove the oil level switch relay.
; || Turn the ignition switch ON. Measure the v o lt
age between the oil level switch relay 4P (Gray)
connector terminals of the wire harness side and
ground.
Connection: Black/w hite (+) - Ground (-)
Black/w hite (+) - Ground (-)
Does the b a tte ry voltage e x is t?
YES
- GO TO STEP

NO
- Open circuit in the Black/white wire.

. Oil Level Switch Relay Inspection
Connect an ohmmeter to the oil level switch
relay terminals.
Connect a battery to the oil level switch relay ter
minals as shown.
There should be continuity only when the 12 V
battery is connected.
Is there c o n tin u ity ?
YES
- G O TO STEP 7.
NO
- Faulty oil level switch relay.
