HFT

DTC 19-1 (ENGINE SPEED SIGNAL)

• Before starting inspection. Check for loose or

poor connectors on the TCM 33P (Black) connec

to r and ECM (Gray) connector, then check the

DTC.

1. Engine Speed Line Open Circuit Inspection

Turn the ignition switch OFF.

Disconnect the follow ing:

- TCM 33P (Black) connector
- ECM 33P (Gray) connector

Check for continuity between the wire harness

side ECM connector terminal and TCM connec

to r terminal.

Connection: A7 (Yellow/green) - Yellow/green

TOOL:
Test probe

YES

- GO TO STEP 2.

- Open circuit in Yellow/green wire.

2. Engine Speed Line Short Circuit Inspection

Disconnect the combination meter 20P (Gray)

connector.

Check for continuity between the ECM connector

term inal of the w ire harness side and ground.

Connection: Yellow/green - Ground

TOOL:
Test probe

- Open circuit in Yellow/green wire.

- • Replace the TCM w ith a new one,

and recheck (HFT initialization proce
