3. EOT Sensor O utput Line Short Circuit Inspection
Turn the ignition switch OFF.
Disconnect the TCM 33P (Black) connector.
Check for continuity between the w ire harness
side EOT sensor 2P connector term inal and
ground.
Connection: Blue - Ground
Is th e re c o n tin u ity ?
YES - Short circuit in Blue wire.
NO - Replace the TCM with a new one, and
recheck (HFT initialization procedure:
page 11-93).

DTC 44-2 (EOT SENSOR HIGH
VOLTAGE)
• Before starting inspection, Check for loose or
poor connectors on the EOT sensor 2P connector
and TCM 33P (Black) connector, then check the
DTC.
1. EOT Sensor System Inspection
Turn the ignition switch ON and engine stop
switch " O " .
Check the ECT sensor w ith the HDS.
Is a b o u t 5 V indicated?
YES - GO TO STEP 2.
NO - • Interm ittent failure.
• Loose or poorly connected EOT sen­
sor 2P connector.
2. EOT Sensor Inspection
Turn the ignition switch OFF.
Disconnect the EOT sensor 2P connector.
Connect the w ire harness side connector term i­
nals w ith a jum per wire.
Turn the ignition switch ON and engine stop
switch " O " .
Check the EOT sensor w ith the HDS.
Is a b o u t 0 V indicated ?
YES - Faulty EOT sensor.
NO - GO TO STEP 3.
