Support the bearing inner race and press the output
shaft into the hearing holder
OUTPUT SHAFT
Coat a new O-ring w ith engine oil and install it into
the bearing holder groove.
Install the shim.
NOTE:
When the bearing, shaft, holder and/or case have
been replaced, use the 0.40 mm (0.016 in) shim for
initial referencs (page 14-30).
O-RING
Hold the side gear case in a vise w ith soft jaws.
Install the bearing holder into the side gear case,
aligning w ith the bolt holes.
A pply engine oil to the threads and seating surface
of the bolts and install them.
Tighten the bolts to the specified torque.
TORQUE: 31 N m (3.2 kgf-m, 23 Ibf ft)
A pply engine oil to the threads and seating surface
o f a new outer lock nut and tighten it to the speci­
fied torque using a special tool.
TOOL:
Lock nut wrench, 36 x 47.8 mm

lndicated:89 N-m (9.1 kgf-m, 66 Ibf ft)
