FUEL SYSTEM (PGM-FI)
FUEL PUMP
INSPECTION
Turn th e ig n itio n sw itch ON, engine stop sw itch "O"
and c o n firm th a t the fuel p um p operates fo r a fe w
seconds.
If the fu e l p um p does not operate, inspect as fo l­
lows:
Turn th e ig n itio n sw itch OFF.
R em ove the seat (page 3-4).
D isconnect the fu e l p um p 3P (Black) connector.
Turn th e ig n itio n sw itch ON, engine stop sw itch "O"
and m easure the voltage between the w ire side te r­
m inals.
CONNECTION: Y ellow /red (+) - Green (-)
There s h o u ld be battery voltage fo r a fe w seconds.
If there is battery voltage, replace the fu e l pum p.
If there is no battery voltage, inspect the fo llo w in g :
- M ain fuse 40 A
- Fuse (FI 20 A)
- Fuse (ST/IGN 10 A)
- E ngine stop sw itch (page 22-21)
- Fuel cut relay (page 6-43)
- FI/IG N/pum p relay (page 6-68)
- Bank angle sensor (page 6-67)
- ECM (page 6-69)
R E M O V A L
• Do n o t disassem ble the fuel p um p assem bly.
• W ip e o ff spilled gasoline.
Rem ove th e seat (page 3-4).
Relieve the fuel pressure and disconnect the quick
connect fittin g (page 6-37).
D isconnect the fuel p um p 3P (Black) connector.
