R eplace th e fuel lin e if n ecessary.

THROTTLE OPERATION
Check fo r a n y d e te rio ra tio n o r d a m a g e to th e th ro t­
tle cables. Check th e th ro ttle g rip fo r s m o o th o p e ra ­
tion . C heck th a t th e th ro ttle o p e n s a n d a u to m a tic a lly
closes in all steerin g p osition s.
If th e th ro ttle g rip d o e s n o t re tu rn p ro p e rly , lu b ricate
th e th ro ttle cables a n d o v e rh a u l a n d lu b ric a te th e
th ro ttle g rip housing.
For ca b le lu b ricatio n : D is c o n n e c t th e th ro ttle cables
at th e ir u p p e r ends. T h o ro u g h ly lu b ric a te th e cables
and th e ir p iv o t p o in ts w ith a c o m m e rc ia lly a v a ila b le
ca b le lu b ric a n t o r a lig h t w e ig h t o il.
If th e th ro ttle g rip still d o e s n o t re tu rn p ro p e rly ,
replace th e th ro ttle cables.
W ith th e e n g in e id lin g , tu rn th e h a n d le b a r all th e
w a y to th e righ t a n d left to e n s u re th a t th e id le
speed d o e s not c h a n g e . If id le s p e e d increases,
check th e th ro ttle g rip fre e p la y an d th e th ro ttle cable
c o nn ectio n.
M e a s u re th e th ro ttle g rip fre e p la y a t th e th ro ttle grip
fla n g e .
FREEPLAY: 2 - 6 mm (0.08 - 0.24 in)
T h ro ttle g rip fre e p la y can be a d ju s te d at e ith e r end
o f th e th ro ttle cable.
