Chapter 6 Setting Up the Room to Use Cisco TelePresence Manager
Configuring Cisco Unified CM for Cisco TelePresence Manager

In the Directory Number Information window, select the Allow Control of Device from CTI
check-box.

For each Cisco Unified IP phone that is associated with the CTS endpoint, select the Allow Control
of Device from CTI check-box at the bottom of the Device Information window.
Step 4
Go to User Management > Application User and create an application user in Cisco Cisco Unified CM
for Cisco TelePresence Manager.
Tip
Save these credentials for use during the Cisco TelePresence Manager first time setup.
Step 5
Assign all Cisco TelePresence endpoints and their associated IP phone devices to this application user.
Step 6
Add the MAC address of each unit and IP phone to the user profile.
Step 7
Create a user group in the CiscoCisco Unified CM for Cisco Telepresence Manager.
Step 8
Assign the following roles to this user group:
•
Standard Administrative XML (
AXL
) API access
•
Standard Computer Telephony Integration (CTI) enabled
•
Standard serviceability
•
Standard CiscoCisco Unified CM administrative users
Step 9
Add the above application user to the newly created user group.
Step 10
Verify that the following services are activated and running on the Cisco Cisco Unified CM node:
•
(Required) Cisco AXL Web Service is activated on the Cisco Cisco Unified CM Publisher node.
•
Cisco RIS Data Collector is running on the Cisco Unified CM Publisher node.
•
Cisco CTI Manager
is activated and running.
Note
Cisco CTI Manager can be running on any node inside the same Cisco Unified CM cluster.

Configuring Cisco Unified CM Server Names
Step 1
Log into the Cisco Unified Communications Manager Administration interface.
Step 2
From the System drop-down menu, choose Server.
Step 3
Use the Find feature to locate all the servers in your Cisco Unified Communications Manager cluster
Step 4
In the Cisco TelePresence Manager’s System Configuration > Cisco UCM Host field, use only IP
address in a non-DNS environment. If DNS is configured and accessible, use either hostname or IP
address.
