Chapter 6 Setting Up the Room to Use Cisco TelePresence Manager
Configuring Microsoft Messaging Software for Cisco TelePresence Manager
Deploying Microsoft Exchange 2003
To deploy Microsoft Exchange 2003, follow these steps:
Step 1
Create an account in Microsoft Exchange 2003 for CTS Manager (for example,
ctmmanaccount
).
Step 2
Provide an adequate mailbox quota for the account,
ctmmanaccount
.
Note
Cisco recommends providing at least 1 GB of mailbox quota for a deployment of up to 125
Cisco TelePresence System endpoints. Additional mailbox quota is recommended if feasible.
Step 3
Log in to
ctmmanaccount
once to verify that it is set up correctly.
Step 4
Create an account in Microsoft Exchange for each Cisco TelePresence System endpoint. You can use
“Active Directory Users and Computers” to create the room accounts, or use any custom script to create
the room account. If the room is already created, use the information from the Cisco Unified CM and
skip this step.
Note
Microsoft Exchange software does not support certain special characters in the Recipient Policy
Exchange field. These special characters are also not supported by CTS-Manager. Refer to the following
Microsoft Help and Support
page for more information:
Characters that are not supported for object names in Exchange
Step 5
Required. Log into the room account once using Outlook Web Access (OWA), or Outlook to set up the
room mailbox in Exchange.
Step 6
The Cisco TelePresence Manager account (for example,
ctmmanaccount
) must have read permission on
the Calendar folder for each room’s mailbox. Use Outlook to set Calendar Properties using the
Permissions tab, or use Active Directory to select “Full mailbox access” permissions.
Step 7
Verify that the Cisco TelePresence Manager account has permissions for all room accounts by
completing the following steps:
a.
Using your Cisco TelePresence Manager account,
ctmmanaccount
, and a supported browser, log in
to the room account with OWA:
http://<exchange ip address>/exchange/<roomaccountname>
b.
Test the setup by sending a test e-mail to any user in the same domain and confirming that the user
receives the e-mail.
