Unpacking, Installation, and Setup
2.1 Unpacking and Installation
2.1.1 Unpacking and Inspection
The single stream analyzer is shipped fully assembled. A start-up kit with
tubing ferrules and nuts for making drain and vent connections is included.
Before installing the analyzer, thoroughly check the shipping container and
the analyzer for damage or for hardware and cabling that may have come
loose during transit. Handle with care.
2.1.2 Location Criteria
The analyzer is intended for indoor operation, either mounted to a wall or rack
(refer to
). The ideal location is dry, well ventilated, and
temperature controlled. For ease of operation, mount the analyzer so that the
display is at or slightly above eye level. Pay attention to the following criteria to
maximize your TOC measurements:
Caution: The analyzer weighs
54 kg (120 lb), take appropriate
precautions when lifting or
moving.
for Spanish, French,
German, or Italian translation.
•
Select a location that is as close to the sample source as possible to
reduce analysis delay.
•
Select a location close to a drain and to the carrier gas source.
•
Select a location where the ambient temperature is within the range of
5 to 40 °C (41 to 104 °F).
•
Ensure there is enough clearance on the left side of the analyzer to allow
the enclosure fan to cool the enclosure.
•
Allow 400 mm (16 in.) clearance on either side and on the bottom and
1000 mm (40 in.) clearance on the front, see
.
The analyzer must be bolted to a suitable wall or frame capable of
supporting the analyzer weight using all four mounting brackets. If a fork-lift
is used to install the analyzer, position the blades on each side of the drain
under the vertical sides of the analyzer and support the top of the analyzer to
prevent falling.
A rack assembly suitable for mounting the analyzer is available.
See
for mounting information and rack dimensions.
If the analyzer is installed in a corrosive environment, purging the cabinet with
clean, dry instrument air is advised.
1.
Vent 50 cc of carrier gas into the top enclosure.
2.
Remove one of the cable blanks so that the vented gas flows into the
bottom enclosure and out of a vent hole.
This ensures that no fumes migrate into the top enclosure and any acidic
vapors produced by leaks are vented.
