Zero Stability
Four attempts at a zero calibration are made before this error is reported.
There are several reasons why this can occur.
During the cleaning delay, the cleaning solution is unable
to remove sufficient carbon from the analyzer. This
causes a carryover effect and results in a significant
oxidation during a baseline that then causes the CO
2
to
vary.
Ensure the clean period is adequate and verify the
cleaning solution is sufficient to obtain cleaning for your
application. Ensure the pre zero period is set to a value
greater than the response time of the analyzer.
The carrier flow rate is varying.
Observe the flow meters to verify that the gas supply is at
a constant pressure.
The DI water is varying in purity or is not of constant
supply.
Verify the purity of the DI standard and replace if
necessary. Ensure peristaltic pumps are currently
operating. Verify the calibration valves are fully open.
The persulfate has carbon impurities.
Use carbon free persulfate only.
Leaking fluid or gas system.
Fix leak.
Poor IR cell heater control.
Verify cell temperature is constant 49 °C ±1 °C.
Faulty IR

Zero Level
The analyzer has detected that the zero standard produces a CO
2
level that is too high.
The DI water is varying in purity or is not of
constant supply.
Verify purity of DI standard and replace if necessary.
Ensure peristaltic pumps are currently operating. Verify
the calibration valves are fully open.
The persulfate has carbon impurities.
Use carbon free persulfate only.
The fluid or gas system is leaking.
Fix leak.
Recalibrate the IR.
Verify that IR reads zero by using carrier gas to IR input.
The carrier gas has a high CO
2
content.
Increase purity of carrier gas.
