Click on the
Ping a Host button
. The following screen will be displayed:

Enter the IP Address of your laptop into the box labeled
Enter Remote IP Address
.
After you enter in the IP Address of your laptop:
•
Push
Enter
. At this point the HFA will try to ping your laptop. You will get a
message that will say that the ping was successful or a message saying that the
ping was unsuccessful.
•
If the ping was unsuccessful then check the following things:
-
IP Address of your laptop
-
the cable you are using is a crossover cable
-
the crossover cable is plugged in correctly
If you get a successful ping, continue on to
D) Configuring the HFA II-i to Communicate to a
Laptop.
