Change the IP Address on your laptop to the same IP address the HFA has except for
the last three digits. Change the last number of the three digits by one number
(by
doing this you are putting your laptop on the same network as the HFA)
.
Example:
HFA IP = 192.168.1.12
Your IP should = 192.168.1.11 or 192.168.1.13
•
Click in the
Subnet mask
area. Ensure that the Subnet mask on your laptop
matches the subnet mask of the HFA exactly.
•
Click on
OK
and restart your laptop.
6.
When your laptop comes back up, login to your laptop:
•
Right-click on the
My Computer
icon
•
Select
Properties
•
Select the
Network Identification
tab
•
Write down the
Computer Name
and the
Workgroup Name
7.
Right-click on your
Desktop
and select
New
>
Folder.
•
Name the folder
HFA
•
Right-click on the folder you just created and select
Sharing
from the fly out menu.
•
Select
Share this folder
. The share name should be
HFA.
After you verify to
make sure you have the correct share name, click
OK
.

On a Windows 2000 laptop, click
Start
>
Settings
>
Control Panel.
9. Double-click
on
Users and Passwords.
The following screen will be displayed:
