C. ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURE
1. Adjust the large front shock absorber:
Note: The first attempt at adjustment is done with the large front
shock absorber. However, it may be necessary to fine tune the
positioning by adjusting the small right side shock absorber if
you run out of adjustment with the large one.
a. Turn the compressed air OFF.
b. Using a 1 1/8-in. open end wrench or crowfoot, loosen the jam nut
adjacent to the shock absorber mounting bracket by rotating it
counterclockwise .
c. Manually rotate the shock absorber as needed to move the table
forward or rearward to make the correction required by the
measurements recorded in Step B.14., above:
Note: If the measurements differ between the left and right
spindles, make the correction a compromise between
the two.
• To move the table toward the front of the machine,
rotate the shock absorber
counterclockwise .
• To move the table toward the rear of the machine, rotate the
shock absorber
clockwise .
Example: If a 1/2-in. gap was measured with the spindles
extending too far toward the rear, move the table 1/2
inch forward (toward the front of the machine) by
rotating the shock absorber approximately 1/2 inch
counterclockwise .
d. Retighten the jam nut by rotating it clockwise .
2. Test the adjustment by repeating Steps 1. through 14. in Section B.,
above.
a. If the goal is met, skip to the Lock Adjustment, below.
b. If the goal is not met, repeat the adjustment by following Steps 1.
and 2., above in this section.
