POWER UP
Refer to engineering drawing 217946E1 for the following description of power
up circuitry. The basic functions of the power up circuit are to maintain closure
of circuit paths L1, L2, and L3 after the Machine On pushbutton is depressed
and to break the circuit path if a "fault" is sensed. To maintain the circuit path
means to "hold down" the main contactor, 1CON. When the Machine On button
is depressed, the coil or relay, 1RLY, is energized, closing a set of contacts and
energizing the solenoid of 1CON. When the solenoid of 1CON is energized, it
closes the contacts for L1, L2, and L3, providing power throughout the machine.
The contacts for terminals 9 and 5 of the interlock relay, 1RLY, are closed,
maintaining power to 1RLY, keeping contacts 12 and 8 closed and maintaining
power to the main contactor when the Machine On pushbutton is released.
A fault occurs if a single service door interlock (see Interlock section) is open or
if the user depresses any one of six Emergency Off pushbuttons (EMO). The
Emergency Off pushbuttons are the Right Front Top EMO, the Right Side EMO,
the Left Side EMO, the Main Control Panel EMO, the Remote Control Panel
EMO, and the Rear EMO. When a fault occurs, power is removed from the
main contactor's solenoid, and the contacts for the three arterial power lines, L1,
L2, and L3 and for terminals 13 and 14, are opened, removing power from
throughout the machine.
