12. Adjust the regulator as needed to stop gas flow if the pressure of the engine needs to be
assessed.
NOTE: IF the engine was already pressurized for some reason, working gas will immediately
begin back flowing rapidly through the regulator self-venting feature. Tighten the regulator
to slow and stop gas flow.
13.
MEASURE
the temperature of the engine metal. The engine is >100kg of metal and takes
10’s of hours to heat and cool internally. Choose a charge pressure based on the engine
metal temperature.
14.
REFER to
to CHOOSE the target charge pressure based on PRODUCT type
and metal temperature. Don’t choose based on local ambient, but measure the metal. Use
the Lynx/FPC application to read the thermocouples on the ‘head’ of the engine.
NOTE: Maximum Allowed fill rate for the engine is <10 PSI / second.
15. Slowly tighten the regulator to increase the charge pressure in the engine at any rate
below the maximum allowance. The engine fill process will typically take 5-10 minutes.

CAUTION:
To avoid damaging the Stäubli coupling,
it should be attached as close to perpendicular as
possible
